Dear Reader,
Welcome to reflectionandreform.com.
Let me apologize in advance: I am not a writer. I have no formal journalistic training. I am a private citizen inside of this country moved by Dr. Angela Davis’ realization: “I'm no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I’m changing the things I cannot accept.” My entire family is comprised of Black males and females and I. Would. Be. Devastated. if any harm befell them (or any one in your family) because someone thought their lives did not matter. This website is my duty to them, and all the rest of the 43.6 million of us Black folk in America to reverse the four centuries’ old propagation of the notion that we are expendable. Our lives have value and our work has value. In a cruel irony, the rest of this country knows and has benefited from this reality in direct proportion to how much we as Black people have languished for not fully understanding and realizing the same. And we continue to be abused by apartheid and human rights’ violation as a result.
My goal is to follow Mother Maya Angelou’s directive to do what I know, fully faithful that when I know more, this is exactly what I will do. Humbly, I invite you to do the same.
We need all of us.
Thank you for your visit. Please surf through and stay a while.
Sincerely,
